I took off last Thursday and Friday and said goodbye to Houston for the weekend...
We camped out at South Llano River State Park among the heat (100 degrees? seriously?), the animals (omg the animals.), and the river. If I could make googly eyes at the river I would. Wait. I did. It was the perfect temp for tubing and swimming and relaxing. We star gazed at night, and sat around in our chairs laughing at stories that happened before we were born (parental stories are always the best, am i right?).
That does not mean that there weren't MOMENTS. I was floating along the river ahead of everyone else, enjoying the cool water and sunshine and on a particularly fun rapid I found myself face to face with a GIANT FERAL HOG. There was crying and leaping and then lots of laughing once the hog had decided that i was way scarier than it could ever be. Then there were SNAKES outside the women's restroom! Worst place ever for a snake to hang out. It could've at least hung out by the men's side. Seriously, rude. We also saw a baby bobcat and armadillos and deer and rabbits... an animal filled adventure from the get-go!
Anyway. Monday morning came and I realized I felt rejuvenated. Vacation, even a hog-filled one, is great for the soul.
A part 2 with video coming soon.

its MAY.
It's May!
Life is quick.
What have I been doing?
Working, and thinking a lot.
Last weekend, my brother came into town and we had a great brunch at Benjys. I'd never been there, and I was surprised at how hip it was! I say hip like an old person now. Its my new thing. I got the yummy breakfast plate- french toast, scrambled eggs, strawberries, crab cakes, potatoes. YUMMMZ.

I watched this short documentary last night. Really great. It motivated me to upload our own doc this morning!
If you're curious, our student-made documentary called Houston's Pursuit of Hoppiness can be found here.
We're going camping this week, and I am psyched to get out of the city!
What are y'all up to this week?

Architects of Air
Last Thursday evening, me and the roommate ventured over to Discovery Green Downtown to check out Architects of Air. It looks like a giant bouncy castle, but its made up of a very thin plastic called PVC and its basically just a plastic cathedral light house... but, really. You have to take off your shoes (my fav part, actually... haha), but you get to keep your cameras. Check out the video below to see it...
I would definitely recommend going if it comes to your city! We frolicked through the pods, pretending we were in another world. You can start to feel a bit alien-esque...

End of April.
AH, the end of April is upon us. I don't know what to say. I don't even know what to DO. I have plans that will last me until the end of summer, but then WHAT you guys?! I don't even know. Post graduate life is weirding me out, its so fluid. I can do whatever I want (within reason, of course) and I can't handle the decision-making! It'd be nice if someone could just take what I want to do and mold it into something doable. Anyone have a job like that? Life coaches do exist...
SO ANYWAY, stress aside, its been a good month. I was appreciated for Administrative Professional's Day on Wednesday with a bouquet of CANDY. I can't even handle that. It was so nice. I've been scrapbooking up a crazy storm the past couple of weeks. I finally have most of the pictures where I want, so the fun part is about to happen! It has been a long process. I keep telling myself I will never have to do this again, but i know I won't keep up again and in five years I'll be doing it all over again.
How was your April?
